Representatives from 21 Member National Authorities gathered in Santo Domingo for the COCECAVE General Assembly, where delegates approved the organization's new name, CAC Sailing, and elected a new Executive Committee. The meeting marked an important step forward for sailing in the Central American and Caribbean region, with World Sailing officials also in attendance.

Day one of sailing at the 2026 Central American and Caribbean Games is complete, with early leaders emerging across the ISCA, ILCA 7, and iQFOiL classes. While the first races are in the books, there's still plenty of sailing left as competitors continue their pursuit of CAC Games medals.

Six sailors from Central America and the Caribbean finished inside the top 10 at the 2026 ISCA North Americans, underscoring the region’s growing strength on the international Sunfish circuit.
